A Message From The Police

Have you ever been in a situation where you felt like ringing the police but were not sure what to do?

Lancashire Constabulary realizes that hate incidents / crimes (which include homophobic related incidents/crimes) are very much under reported.

Sometimes this is because people feel that the police wont be interested in their problems.

Sometimes it is because people are not confident that police would take them seriously.

The truth of the matter is that the police DO treat all complaints seriously. They want you to ring them and help you with your problems in any way they can.

No complaint is too small. All information is treated in the strictest confidence and every call could be important as it builds up an intelligence picture of just what is really happening in our communities.

That call could be important because nothing will change unless incidents/crimes are reported and because the attitude of the ‘offenders’ will remain unchallenged and unchanged.

You don’t even have to report the incident yourself. Third party reporting is possible through the Lancashire Constabulary website www.lancashire.police.uk and the True Vision website www.report-it.org.uk
